Job description

The Maintenance Worker Trainee is an apprentice position where they will learn and develop various skills. They will repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, pneumatic tools, and production machines and equipment. They will assist in repairs of electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment. They will maintain production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. Finally, they will repair and maintain physical structures using hand tools and power tools.


Educational Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent  


Experience Requirements:

General exposure to the maintenance trade       


Other Requirements:

  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow instructions.
  • General knowledge of mechanical and facilities repair and maintenance. 
  • Basic knowledge of electrical trade, techniques, materials, tools, and equipment used.  
  • Work will be performed in a manufacturing environment. Occasionally, the employee might be exposed to moving mechanical parts and electricity. The noise level in the area is generally moderate. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand or walk for long periods and reach to grasp objects.
  • Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
  • Alter, maintain, and repair electrical wiring systems, fixtures, transformers, and other electrical equipment.
  • Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment with direction and assistance from other senior maintenance workers.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
  • Perform preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools, and production machines.
  • Repair, alter, and maintain a variety of tools and equipment. Lubricates and cleans parts.
  • Paint structures, perform masonry work, repair plumbing fixtures and repair woodwork, drywall, and plaster. Patch concrete and perform repairs on roof and furniture. Build physical structures and work areas.
  • Test malfunctioning machinery and discuss malfunction with other maintenance workers and supervisor to diagnose malfunction.
  • Replace faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, motors, and positions sensors.
  • Move, install and adjust fixtures, motors, and other electrical/mechanical equipment.
  • Initiate requisitions for parts.

  • Night Shift
  • Four 10 Hour Shifts
  • Monday thru Thursday 4:30pm to 3:00am
